The Mythological Chimeraby *eyeconartist

Digital Art / Photomanipulation / Fantasy

This was created for Maniputlate This' Chimera Challenge. It was late, but I did it more for myself. Needed to get back on the Manipulation horse.

Legend has it, that the Chimera [ki-meer-uh] was a beast that had the body of a lion with the head of a goat coming out of the spine, with a tail that was snake ending with the snake's head. AND could breathe fire. Contrary to what some think, it didn't have wings.

WOW!

You've used alot of stock in this manip! And it looks awesome! The fire looks realistic and you've done an awesome job with the lighting.

The snake-tail looks great too! I love how you've brough the texture of the snakeskin onto the lion.

The only thing that looks at all out of place in this picture is the cliff. The left side of the cliff with the grass looks ...unusual.

Otherwise though, absolutely incredible!

Thanks Dan. I feel ya on the cliff. The original ocean was coming in at an angle. Heading toward the bottom right hand corner, but it was boring. Since I was strapped for time, that was one of the things that I had to let slide.

I know, right? I feel I could've won it, but I was a little late. I'm just glad I was able to get it to where it is in just a few days. Oh well. What was the award for 1st prize?

I think...it was a stock prize-pack or two. I don't remember exactly and at a quick glance I can't find anything about it in the Blogs. The Challenges usually just have smaller prizes and prize-stock packs, but Contests usually have a pile of prizes for the winners!

But... Next week we'll be having a Contest! Then we'll be playing for some Real prizes
